LOLC Technologies’ recreations club has successfully organized its much-anticipated Mega Sports day on 28^th September 2024 at MCA grounds Colombo 07. Under the theme of “Beyond Boundaries”, the event brought together employees to cheer and celebrate the spirit of competitiveness and teamwork through  an exciting series of Cricket, Basketball and Badminton matches which caught many individuals interest.

The Sports Day was an eagerly awaited event for many employees at LOLC Tech as it offered a much-needed break from tiring and heavy work schedules. This event provide the staff with a chance to unwind, relax and to re-connect with colleagues outside the office hours. The excitement of the employees were  clearly evident  as they came together and  enjoyed a day filled with friendly competition and team spirit throughout the day.

Here we disclose you the champions of the LOLCTECH Sports Day 2024;

•  Basketball – Token Tuskers emerged as the champions, showcasing powerful skills and strategy, while the Cyber Cheetahs secured the runner-up position.

• Men’s Badminton Doubles – the Tech Turtles (Thisan Samarasinghe & Nileka Madurapperuma) claimed the winner’s title, defeating the Data Dragons (Bhanuka Gunathilake & Abhishek Jayakody), while the Data Dragons were placed runners-up.

• Mixed Badminton Doubles-, the Data Dragons (Bhanuka Gunathilake & Imasha Udayangi) claimed victory against Geek Gators (Nalan Perera & Jayani Botheju), who put up a strong fight for the runner-up spot.

• Women’s Cricket- the competition was fierce, but ultimately, both the Data Dragons and Token Tuskers emerged victorious, sharing the championship title in a draw.

• Men’s Cricket – the Firewall Falcons emerged the champions, while the Python Pandas secured the runners-up title displaying their competitive spirit throughout the day.

Definitely LOLCTECH Sports Day 2024 was a memorable occasion that left a lasting impression on everyone involved.
